Calpe Beach

Between Les Bassetes and Morro de Toix, Calpe has 11 kilometers of coastline with a big sandy beach splitted into Levante and Arenal. Coves such as La Manzanera (where there are three buildings designed by the Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill) and Les Urques cove, where it is possible to fish or snorkel. Not far away is the Roman site of Baños de la Reina, which includes sea pools carved in stone.
On a cape to the east is the Peñon d’Ifach, an immense limestone formation that is home to a great variety of birds. At its feet are the ruins of Pobla de Ifac, a medieval fortified city. Calpe has a beautiful sandy beach, a large promenade to walk and eat in its many restaurants or shops. Moreover it has a beautiful bay with luxury yachts. The large sandy beach at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach attracts thousands of tourists every year who come to swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Many buildings have been built around the large Arenal beach.
